Collide with Korea

I left you all a note last week that I was going to my region's winter conference, "Collide."

I was amazed by how excited everyone is to be invited to Korea.

We had time to show one video to explain the conference. We looked at all our options carefully and chose the video from Hong Kong. We liked the clips from the last enormous event in Korea in 1974. I particularly liked the footage of people throwing around an immense inflatable globe.

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Will we get to play with enormous inflatable globes this summer? I will try to find out the answer to that question.

We also liked that it had an invitation from the national director of Korea on it. We feel this is one of the most important parts of CM2007, that we're being invited by the ministry of South Korea to join them and the rest of the world.

Anyway... our whole region is excited about CM2007. Students are asking which summer projects will let them go to Korea. Staff are trying to get a summer placement that allows them to go to Korea.
By the way, if you know for sure you are coming, you can register now!

I lived in Korea from 1974 to 1980, first as a radio television broadcaster with AFKN in the Army, then as an English teacher. I loved the place and the people. What's more, they love us. They are our only "success story". We walked in a rescued them and they have stood by us as fiends ever since. In other words, "very Korean of them". I miss the place to this day.
